Day 1: Lemosho Gate – Mti Mkubwa

Transfer to Lemosho Gate (2,060 m) for registration. Trek through rainforest to Mti Mkubwa (2,600 m).

Hiking time: 3–4 hours
Dinner and overnight at Mti Mkubwa.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa – Shira Camp 1

Trek across lush rainforest to Shira Camp 1 (3,500 m), entering the moorland zone.

Hiking time: 5–6 hours
Dinner and overnight at Shira Camp 1.

Day 3: Shira Camp 1 – Shira Camp 2

Continue trekking across the Shira Plateau to Shira Camp 2 (3,850 m) for acclimatization.

Hiking time: 4–5 hours
Dinner and overnight at Shira Camp 2.

Day 4: Shira Camp 2 – Barranco Camp

Trek across the Shira Plateau and descend slightly to Barranco Camp (3,960 m), famous for the Barranco Wall.

Hiking time: 5–6 hours
Dinner and overnight at Barranco Camp.

Day 5: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp

Climb the Barranco Wall and trek across alpine desert to Karanga Camp (4,100 m).

Hiking time: 4–5 hours
Dinner and overnight at Karanga Camp.

Day 6: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp

Trek to Barafu Camp (4,700 m) and rest in preparation for the midnight summit attempt.

Hiking time: 3–4 hours
Early dinner and rest.

Day 7: Summit – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp

Begin the summit attempt around midnight. Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) at sunrise. Descend to Mweka Camp (3,100 m) for overnight rest.

Hiking time: 12–15 hours
Dinner and overnight at Mweka Camp.

Day 8: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate

Trek down through rainforest to Mweka Gate. Receive summit certificates and transfer back to your hotel.

Hiking time: 3–4 hours
